Instead of burning PIXONA Genesis (V1), eligible holders can use a compatible **MUTAGEN** to unlock a PIXONA V2 evolution while keeping their Genesis NFT. The concept is simple: > **Consume MUTAGEN → Unlock Evolution → Create V2** MUTAGEN is designed to give holders another way to participate in the V2 migration without sacrificing their Genesis NFT. *** ## How MUTAGEN Evolution Works The process connects the MUTAGEN collection directly to the V2 Evolution Protocol. ``` MUTAGEN NFT ↓ Verify Mutation Type ↓ Check Eligible V2 Batch ↓ Consume MUTAGEN ↓ Unlock V2 Evolution ↓ Access V2 Designer ↓ Create PIXONA V2 ↓ Fully Onchain ``` Once the MUTAGEN is consumed, it permanently leaves circulation and the holder can proceed with the corresponding V2 evolution. *** ## MUTAGEN as an Evolution Key Each MUTAGEN is designed to function as a **one-time Evolution Key**. The three variants have different levels of access within the V2 batch system: | MUTAGEN | Mutation Type | V2 Batch | | ------- | ------------------ | -------- | | **P01** | Community Mutation | Common | | **P02** | Advanced Mutation | Rare | | **P03** | Prime Mutation | Epic | This creates a direct relationship between the MUTAGEN variants and the V2 rarity structure. P01 provides access to the first V2 batch. P02 provides access to the Rare batch. P03 provides access to the Epic batch. *** ## MUTAGEN Does Not Create Extra V2 Supply One of the most important rules of MUTAGEN Evolution is that it does **not** increase the V2 supply. PIXONA V2 has a permanent maximum supply of: ### 3,333 NFTs Every MUTAGEN evolution simply uses one of the existing V2 evolution slots. For example: ``` Consume 1 MUTAGEN ↓ Unlock 1 Evolution ↓ Create 1 V2 ``` There is no mechanism where one MUTAGEN can create multiple V2 NFTs. The maximum remains **3,333 V2 NFTs**, regardless of how many evolutions use Genesis or MUTAGEN. *** ## Preserving Your Genesis The primary benefit of MUTAGEN Evolution is the ability to participate in V2 while keeping your Genesis NFT. Compare the two paths: #### Genesis Evolution **Burn V1** ↓ **Unlock V2** #### MUTAGEN Evolution **Consume MUTAGEN** ↓ **Keep V1** ↓ **Unlock V2** This gives Genesis holders more flexibility when deciding how they want to participate in the migration. A holder who wants to preserve their Genesis can use a compatible MUTAGEN instead of sacrificing their V1. *** ## One-Time Consumption MUTAGEN is permanently consumed when used for evolution. After a successful evolution: * The MUTAGEN cannot be reused. * The MUTAGEN cannot be recovered. * The MUTAGEN cannot be transferred. * The same MUTAGEN cannot unlock another V2. The consumption is permanent. This also means that MUTAGEN naturally becomes scarcer as more holders use it for evolution. *** ## Batch-Based Access MUTAGEN access follows the V2 batch system. The three variants correspond to the first three V2 rarity stages: #### P01 — Community Mutation Provides access to: **Batch 1 — Common** Supply: **2,413** #### P02 — Advanced Mutation Provides access to: **Batch 2 — Rare** Supply: **600** #### P03 — Prime Mutation Provides access to: **Batch 3 — Epic** Supply: **220** The batches are released sequentially. A higher batch cannot be accessed before the corresponding stage of the V2 release becomes available. *** ## What Happens After Consumption? Once an eligible MUTAGEN has been successfully consumed, the holder can continue through the V2 creation process. The general flow is: **MUTAGEN Consumption** ↓ **Evolution Unlocked** ↓ **V2 Designer** ↓ **Character Customization** ↓ **Finalize PIXONA** ↓ **Fully Onchain Deployment** The resulting PIXONA becomes part of the V2 collection. *** ## MUTAGEN Supply The MUTAGEN collection has a fixed supply of **1,111 NFTs**. | Variant | Name | Supply | | --------- | ------------------ | --------: | | **P01** | Community Mutation | 1900 | | **P02** | Advanced Mutation | 260 | | **P03** | Prime Mutation | 62 | | **Total** | | **2,222** | No additional MUTAGEN supply is planned beyond the original 2,222 allocation. As MUTAGENs are consumed through evolution, the remaining circulating supply can decrease over time. *** ## MUTAGEN and Genesis Are Different Paths MUTAGEN does not replace Genesis Evolution. Both paths exist for different reasons. **Genesis Evolution** uses the original PIXONA collection as the evolution asset. **MUTAGEN Evolution** provides an alternative that allows holders to preserve their Genesis. It gives collectors another way to participate, creates a connection between the community and the upcoming technology, and helps introduce more people to the next chapter of PIXONA. MUTAGEN is therefore more than a collectible.
